Welcome to Red Sea Market & Café
Rooted in heritage and driven by community, Red Sea Market & Café was created to bring the rich flavors and traditions of East Africa to Sioux City, Iowa.
Our story begins with a vision: to make it easy for East African families to find the groceries, spices, and tools they love while inviting the broader community to discover something new. The name Red Sea comes from the body of water that borders Eritrea, symbolizing our deep cultural connection and the bridge between tradition and modern life.
Inside our doors, you’ll find two spaces that work hand in hand:
Red Sea Market, a neighborhood grocery filled with authentic East African ingredients from spices and injera tools to grains, lentils, and everyday essentials.
Red Sea Café, a cozy, modern coffee spot where you can enjoy hand-roasted Eritrean coffee, spiced teas, smoothies, and healthy grab-and-go foods inspired by our culture.
Our goal is simple: to make everyone feel welcome. Whether you’re a local resident, hospital staff on break, a student from nearby schools, or a member of the East African community this is a space built for you.
We take pride in keeping our prices fair by working directly with suppliers, and we’re committed to offering both cultural authenticity and modern comfort.
As a family-run business, every cup, every spice, and every smile reflects our roots and our belief that food connects people.
